FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
We're a Lutheran Church, part of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod. But more important than our affiliation is our set of beliefs - you can find those here.
There is no dress code at Atonement. You'll see a few people in ties, others dressed more casually. Come as you are! God wants your heart.
Our worship style is known as liturgical. Jesus is at the center of liturgical worship.
Some parts of the liturgy stay the same each Sunday. This is to make sure that Jesus is proclaimed and praised during every service.
Some parts of the liturgy change every week. These changes are based on the appointed calendar of the church. This calendar makes sure that we cover the important events and teachings of the Bible every year.
We love having children in our services. Your kids are always welcome, and we try to make our services engaging and special for the kids, too. We believe that worshipping together, as a family, is important for both children and parents, and encourage all of our families to attend worship together.
We do also operate a nursery during our second service. It's staffed by members of our congregation and you're welcome to take your kids there for some or all of the service. You can stay with them or leave them so you can worship.
